Product Overview

The Omron R88D-1SN08H-ECT is the 750 W step-up from the 200 W 1SN02H-ECT in the 200 VAC EtherCAT G5 family. The "08" in the code denotes 750 W, "H" the 200 VAC class, "ECT" EtherCAT.

The 750 W power level covers mid-size motion axes: medium-format conveyors, larger indexing tables, labelling heads on bottling lines, light-pick gantries, and small CNC auxiliary axes. The matching motor is the R88M-1M75030T (no brake) or R88M-1M75030T-B (with brake), both in the 200 VAC 3000 rpm family.

Like the 200 W variant, the drive runs EtherCAT with the CIA 402 profile, cycle times down to 250 µs, and full position / speed / torque / homing mode support. The drive is configured in Sysmac Studio and appears in the controller's motion tree as a standard axis object. Auto-gain tuning and manual tuning are both supported.

At 750 W the drive may need an external regenerative resistor on high-deceleration or vertical-axis duty cycles — the built-in resistor is sized for the typical horizontal-axis duty. Check the Omron catalogue for the external resistor selection.

Key Features

  • 750 W continuous output at 3000 rpm motor class
  • Single-phase 200–230 VAC input
  • EtherCAT CoE — standard CIA 402 drive profile
  • Cycle times down to 250 µs
  • Position, speed, torque and homing modes per CIA 402
  • One-button auto-gain tuning with manual override
  • Built-in regenerative resistor; external unit available for high-duty cycles
  • DIN-rail or panel mount
  • SKU: R88D-1SN08H-ECT
  • Series: Accurax G5 (R88D-1SN)
  • Voltage: 230 VAC
  • I/O: 750 I/O

Best-Fit Applications

  • Mid-size 750 W axes on bottling and packaging lines
  • Labelling heads and rotary cutters
  • Larger pick-and-place gantries with multiple 750 W axes
  • Light CNC auxiliary axes (tool changers, chip conveyors)
  • Material-handling conveyors in mid-throughput lines

Buying Checklist

  • Match the motor to the drive's 200 VAC 750 W class — using a 200 W motor on this drive will not work
  • For high-deceleration or vertical-axis duty, plan an external regenerative resistor
  • If you need STO / SS1 / SLS, order the -Z variant
  • Check the panel ventilation — 750 W drives dissipate more heat than 200 W
  • Use Omron's specified EtherCAT cable for the motion duty

FAQ for R88D-1SN08H-ECT

What motor do I pair with this drive?
The R88M-1M75030T (no brake) or R88M-1M75030T-B (with brake), both 200 VAC 3000 rpm. Mixing motor and drive power ratings can damage either unit.
Do I need an external regenerative resistor?
For typical horizontal-axis duty at 750 W, the built-in resistor is sufficient. For vertical axes, high-deceleration duty, or continuous cycling, add the Omron-specified external resistor to avoid regenerative overvoltage trips.
Is this drive safety-rated?
No. For STO / SS1 / SLS, use the -Z variant (R88D-1SN08H-ECT-Z).
