The CJ1W-OD231 adds 32 transistor outputs to a CJ-series PLC rack in a 31 mm slot — half the width of two 16-point OD211 units side-by-side. Each output is NPN sinking rated 0.5 A at 12-24 VDC, which is the typical Asian wiring convention (+24 VDC common, output pulls to 0 V to switch the load on). The front face carries a Fujitsu FCN-361J040-AU 40-pin connector that mates with a standard FCN-360 series pre-wired cable (Omron G79-O@@@) for fast panel wiring.
When to pick this vs the other 32-point siblings
Pick OD231 (this SKU) when your field devices are NPN-style (relay coils or solenoid valves with a common +24 V) and the panel is wired with FCN-360 series cables. The connector and cover are sold separately — order one FCN-361J040-AU socket and one FCN-360C040-J2 cover per unit, plus the appropriate G79-O@@@ pre-wired cable length. For AC loads, use the CJ1W-OC211 relay output unit instead of a transistor output.

Same 32-point count and 0.5 A rating, but the OD231 (this SKU) is NPN sinking with a Fujitsu connector and no short-circuit protection, while the OD232 is PNP sourcing with a MIL connector and built-in short-circuit protection on each point. OD231 fits Asian-style wiring (+24 V common, NPN loads); OD232 fits North American / European PNP wiring.
Does the CJ1W-OD231 have short-circuit protection?
