How do I choose between CJ1W-PA202, PA205R, and PA205C?
All three are CJ-series 100-240 VAC power supplies. PA202 (this SKU) is 14 W at 45 mm wide — pick it for small racks where 2.5 A at 5 V is enough and you don't need extra features. PA205R is 25 W at 80 mm wide and adds a RUN output (a relay that closes while the CPU is in RUN mode) — pick it when an external indicator or HMI needs to confirm CPU status. PA205C is also 25 W but adds a replacement-notification function that warns when the PSU is nearing end of life — pick it when the system uses predictive maintenance.
How many CJ1W I/O units can the CJ1W-PA202 power?
Roughly 10-12 mid-power I/O units plus a 0.5 A CPU. Most basic I/O units draw 90-180 mA at 5 V, so a typical 8-unit rack (CPU + 7 I/O) sits around 1.5 A — well below the 2.8 A limit. For a larger rack or one with CPU-bus units, step up to the PA205R or PA205C (5 A at 5 V).
