Product Overview

The CJ1W-PA202 supplies power to a CJ-series PLC rack — CPU plus a handful of I/O units — from a 100-240 VAC mains input. It delivers 2.8 A at 5 VDC (to the CPU bus) and 0.4 A at 24 VDC (a small service supply for sensors or relay coils). This is the slim 45 mm value-tier PSU in the CJ-series family; pick it when the rack is small and the cabinet is tight.

Choosing between PA202, PA205R, and PA205C

The CJ-series AC PSU range has three models. PA202 (this SKU) is 14 W at 45 mm wide with no extra features. PA205R is 25 W at 80 mm wide and adds a RUN output — a relay contact that closes while the CPU is in RUN mode, useful when an external system needs to confirm CPU status. PA205C is also 25 W at 80 mm wide but adds a replacement notification function that warns when the PSU is nearing end of service life. PA202 fits a CPU plus 4-6 basic I/O units; step up to PA205R or PA205C when the rack needs more than 2.5 A at 5 V, when you need the RUN output, or when the cabinet has the room for the wider 80 mm body.

Before ordering

Add up the 5 V current draw of your CPU and I/O units. A typical CJ2M-CPU11 + 6 mid-power CJ1W units draws about 1.5 A — well under PA202's 2.8 A. If you expect more I/O or analog / special-I/O units, choose PA205R or PA205C instead. The PA202 also lacks the RUN output and the maintenance-forecast feature, so confirm those aren't required.

Key Features

  • 14 W AC power supply for CJ-series PLCs (CPU + I/O)
  • 100-240 VAC wide-range input (85-264 VAC operating range)
  • 5 VDC output: 2.8 A (for CJ bus + CPU)
  • 24 VDC service supply: 0.4 A (for sensors / small relay coils)
  • Slim 45 mm DIN-rail width (vs 80 mm for PA205R / PA205C)
  • No RUN output; no replacement-notification function
  • Finger-safe input and output terminals
  • Green DC ON status LED on front face
  • Mounts as leftmost unit on the CJ CPU rack
  • SEMI-F47 compliant; UL / cUL / CE / Lloyd's / RCM
  • SKU: CJ1W-PA202
  • Series: CJ1W-PA202
  • Voltage: 100-240 VAC
  • I/O: 100 I/O

Best-Fit Applications

  • Small CJ-series rack with a CPU and 4-6 basic I/O units
  • Benchtop or tabletop packaging / assembly machine where panel space is tight
  • Migration replacement for the legacy C200HW-PA204 PSU on C200H systems
  • OEM machine controller where the wider PA205R (80 mm) won't fit
  • Standalone CJ rack powering sensors directly from the 24 VDC 0.4 A service supply

Buying Checklist

  • Pick CJ1W-PA202 (this SKU) for a slim 14 W CJ-series PSU with no RUN output or maintenance forecast
  • Pick CJ1W-PA205R for 25 W capacity and the RUN output (relay closes when CPU is in RUN)
  • Pick CJ1W-PA205C for 25 W capacity and the replacement-notification function
  • Pick CJ1W-PD025 (already done) for 25 W when only 24 VDC is available in the cabinet
  • Confirm total rack 5 V current is below 2.5 A before choosing PA202

FAQ for CJ1W-PA202

How do I choose between CJ1W-PA202, PA205R, and PA205C?
All three are CJ-series 100-240 VAC power supplies. PA202 (this SKU) is 14 W at 45 mm wide — pick it for small racks where 2.5 A at 5 V is enough and you don't need extra features. PA205R is 25 W at 80 mm wide and adds a RUN output (a relay that closes while the CPU is in RUN mode) — pick it when an external indicator or HMI needs to confirm CPU status. PA205C is also 25 W but adds a replacement-notification function that warns when the PSU is nearing end of life — pick it when the system uses predictive maintenance.
How many CJ1W I/O units can the CJ1W-PA202 power?
Roughly 10-12 mid-power I/O units plus a 0.5 A CPU. Most basic I/O units draw 90-180 mA at 5 V, so a typical 8-unit rack (CPU + 7 I/O) sits around 1.5 A — well below the 2.8 A limit. For a larger rack or one with CPU-bus units, step up to the PA205R or PA205C (5 A at 5 V).
Does the CJ1W-PA202 have a 24 VDC output?
Yes — a 24 VDC, 0.4 A service supply terminal. It's enough to power a handful of sensor LEDs, indicator lamps, or small relay coils directly from the PSU, so you don't need a separate 24 V supply for low-current loads. For higher-current 24 VDC loads (solenoid valves, contactors), add a separate S8VK-G06024 or S8VK-G12024 power supply.
Is the CJ1W-PA202 compatible with NJ-series CPUs?
Yes — it works on a CJ1W expansion rack behind an NJ101 / NJ301 / NJ501 CPU. For a new NJ installation, the dedicated NJ-PA3001 PSU is the preferred choice; use the PA202 when adding a CJ expansion rack to an existing NJ system or migrating from CJ2M.
