What is the difference between E2E-X8B1D18-M1 and E2E-X8C1D18-M1?
Both are M18 shielded sensors with 8 mm range and an M12 connector. The B1 suffix is PNP normally-open; the C1 suffix is NPN normally-open. Pick the B1 (this SKU) when the PLC input expects a sourcing signal; pick C1 when the PLC expects sinking. For normally-closed outputs, choose the B2 or C2 sibling.
Can this sensor detect stainless steel or aluminium?
Yes, with a derating. The 8 mm spec is on mild steel. Stainless steel reads at about 65-80 % of that range, and aluminium at 35-50 %. For non-ferrous targets at 8 mm range, fit a larger M30 sensor or use a ferrous target plate bonded to the part.
What M12 cord pairs with the E2E-X8B1D18-M1?
