What is the difference between E3S-AR36 and E3S-R36?
The E3S-AR36 is the polarised retro-reflective version with mirror-surface rejection (MSR) for shiny targets. The plain E3S-R36 is a standard retro-reflective without the polarising filter. Pick AR36 for shrink-wrap, polished metal, or PET bottles; pick R36 for matte surfaces at the same 2 m range.
Does the E3S-AR36 work at 24 VDC?
Yes. The supply range is 10-30 VDC, which covers the standard 24 VDC sensor rail found in most PLC control cabinets. The unit draws about 30 mA at 24 VDC and switches up to 100 mA into the connected load through its PNP output stage.
Which reflector does the E3S-AR36 ship with?
The E3S-AR36 ships with an E39-R1 reflector that supports the full 2 m range. To extend range, use the larger E39-R2 or E39-R7 reflector; to tighten the spot, use the E39-RP1 polarising reflector or the small E39-R3 / E39-R4 stick-on reflector.
Can the E3S-AR36 detect clear PET bottles?
Polarised retro-reflective detects most opaque shiny objects but not all clear PET. For clear PET bottle detection at 500 mm, use the E3Z-B61 2M (clear-PET retro) or E3Z-B86 (PNP M8 connector). For BGS / distance-settable clear-bottle detection, use the E3Z-LL86 BGS laser.
