What does the 'A' suffix mean on the EE-SX772A?
The A suffix reverses the indicator LED logic so that the red LED on top of the case lights up when the beam is interrupted - matching the Dark-ON output state. The non-A EE-SX772 is Dark-ON too, but the indicator lights up when the beam is clear. Pick the A suffix when the operator needs visual confirmation that the sensor has detected the part.
What is the difference between EE-SX772 and EE-SX772A?
Both are T-shape, 5 mm slot, Dark-ON NPN output. The non-A SX772 has the indicator LED ON when the beam is clear (Light-ON indicator logic with Dark-ON output); the SX772A has the indicator LED ON when the beam is interrupted (Dark-ON indicator logic, matching the output). The output transistor behaviour is the same in both.
Can the EE-SX772A be wired directly to a 24 VDC PLC input?
Yes - the NPN open-collector output pulls to near 0 V (less than 0.8 V at 100 mA) when the beam is interrupted, which a sinking 24 VDC PLC input reads as ON. Wire the brown lead to the PLC's 24 V supply, blue to the common, and black to the input terminal. The 35 mA supply current plus the input current must stay within the PLC's 24 V budget.
