Product Overview

The Omron H7CC-AU is a digital counter and tachometer in the H7CC-A series. It fits the standard 45×45 mm panel cutout used across the H7CX / H7CC / K3HB lineup and gives a 6-digit (-99999 to 999999) 7-segment LCD with a 10 mm-tall count row and a 6 mm-tall setpoint row. It is a screw-terminal AC100-240 V unit with NPN / PNP input switchable from a rear DIP switch. In counter mode it runs 1-stage + 2-stage + total + batch + dual + double counter. In tachometer mode it runs pulse-period or pulse-width measurement with a 200 ms or continuous sampling switch. It is the standard pick when a single 48×48 mm device needs to act as a parts counter on one line and a shaft-speed indicator on another.

H7CC-A8 / H7CC-A11 use 8- or 11-pin socket connection for 1-stage + total counter only. H7CC-A runs screw terminals with full multifunction. H7CC-AU is the screw-terminal AC100-240 V variant of that line. Pick the H7CC-AU for a screw-terminal counter / tachometer on AC supply. Why a multifunction counter rather than a simple preset

A simple 1-stage preset counter stops a line at a fixed batch quantity. The H7CC-AU adds 2-stage control (count up to pre-warn, then full stop), total counter for shift totals, batch control, dual counter for two separate parts on one panel, and tachometer when the same device is used on a rotating shaft. One SKU covers most panel jobs and simplifies spare stock.

Before ordering

Confirm the input type: NPN / PNP is set on a rear DIP switch. Wire the count input dry or with voltage. Use shielded cable for the input wiring in noisy cabinets, routed at least 100 mm from power lines. Set the count speed DIP to 30 Hz for mechanical switches or 10 kHz for proximity sensors. Provide the panel cutout at 45×45 mm and seat the unit with the supplied adapter and gasket for IP66 on the panel face.

What is the difference between H7CC-AU and H7CC-A8D?
The H7CC-AU is a screw-terminal unit on AC100-240 V with multifunction counter and tachometer (1-stage + 2-stage + total + batch + dual + double + tachometer). The H7CC-A8D is an 8-pin socket plug-in on AC24 V / DC12-48 V with simpler 1-stage + total counter only. Pick AU for a screw-wired multifunction device on AC mains; pick A8D for a quick-swap 24 VDC socket device with only basic counter.
Can the H7CC-AU read a tachometer as well as a counter?
Yes. Switch the function from counter to tachometer in the parameter menu, set the pulse-period or pulse-width measurement mode, and enter a prescale value. Maximum input frequency is 10 kHz in 1-input mode (5 kHz in other modes). The 6-digit display shows the speed directly in engineering units (rpm, m/min) once prescaling is set.
Does the H7CC-AU keep its count through a power loss?
Yes. The H7CC-AU uses non-volatile memory with 100,000 rewrite cycles minimum and 10-year data retention without power. On power restore, the count resumes from the retained value. Preset values, output-mode settings, and the prescale factor are all retained as well, so no reprogramming is needed after a brownout.
