The Omron H5CC-L8D is a 1-stage preset digital counter in the 48x48 mm H5CC lineup. It counts pulse inputs from a sensor or switch and trips a relay when the count reaches the preset value. The display is a 4-digit LCD readable from across a panel, and the supply is AC 24 V or DC 12 to 48 V -- useful on retrofit cabinets that already have 24 VAC control transformers or 24 VDC sensor rails but not the 100-240 VAC mains.

Why the L8 in the model code matters

The H5CC family splits on connection and supply. The first letter tells the supply: H5CC-A = AC 100-240 V, H5CC-AD = AC 24 V / DC 12-48 V (this SKU's supply). The trailing letter-pair tells the connection: bare (screw terminal), A11 (11-pin socket), AS / L8 (8-pin socket). The 8-pin socket version -- this SKU -- plugs into a P2CF-08-E round base, so the counter can be lifted out of the panel with the wiring left on the socket. Useful for spares that swap with the rest of the cabinet.

H5CC vs H7CC

The H5CC is the earlier generation. The current H7CC series replaces it for new builds, adding multifunction counters, tachometer mode, and color-change LCDs. Pick the H5CC-L8D only when you are swapping an existing H5CC counter on an unchanged wiring base, or when the cabinet still uses 8-pin sockets and P2CF-08-E bases that the H7CC's 11-pin or screw layout does not fit.
