Product Overview
The Omron WLCA12-TH-N is a 2-circuit limit switch in the WL-N series, with an adjustable roller lever actuator, a heat-resistant body, and a neon operation indicator on the housing. The 'WL' marks the WL general-purpose line, 'CA12' marks a side-rotary adjustable roller lever, 'TH' marks the heat-resistant version (to +120 °C body), and 'N' marks the neon operation lamp. The switch carries two SPDT contacts rated at 10 A (250 VAC), with a mechanical life of 15 million operations and an electrical life of 750,000 operations at rated load. It is the standard pick for end-of-stroke, gate-position, and damper-position detection on ovens, foundries, and other high-ambient machines.
Why heat-resistant and a lamp
The TH body uses a high-temperature housing and seal that survive +120 °C ambient. A standard WLCA12-N is rated to +80 °C; TH is the right pick near ovens, steam lines, and curing cabinets. The neon lamp (N) lights when the actuator trips the switch, so the operator can confirm the trip from across the machine without opening the cabinet. For an LED version (lower-power, brighter), look at the WLCA12-LD-N.
Roller lever options
The CA12 code marks the standard side-rotary actuator with an adjustable roller lever. The roller can be repositioned along the lever arm to change the operating position and force, and the lever can be set to actuate in either direction. For a sealed top plunger, use the WLCA12 (no suffix). For a fork lever (two-way), use the WLCL. For a sealed roller plunger, use the WLCA2 series.
Before ordering
Confirm the actuator is the right shape: the CA12 is a side-rotary roller lever. Confirm the ambient stays below +120 °C (TH rating). For lower-temperature panels, the standard WLCA12-N is a more cost-effective pick. Order the conduit connector and gasket to match the cable gland on the panel. Allow space for the lever arm to swing through its full overtravel.
