The Omron CJ1W-AD04U is a 4-channel analog input unit for CJ-series PLCs. Each channel is set independently to a voltage range (1-5 V, 0-5 V, 0-10 V, or +/-10 V) or to 4-20 mA current, so a single unit can read four different transmitters at once. A/D conversion runs at 1/8000 full-scale resolution with a 250 us per-point conversion rate, or at 1/4000 with a 1 ms rate when the faster scan is not needed. It is the standard pick when a CJ rack needs a few analog inputs from panel-mounted transmitters (pressure, level, flow, temperature) without adding a high-density 8-point or 16-point module.

What is the difference between CJ1W-AD04U and CJ1W-AD041-V1?
Both are 4-point analog input units for CJ racks and accept the same voltage and current ranges. The AD041-V1 adds the full feature set: disconnection detection, peak hold, averaging, and offset / gain scaling per channel. The AD04U is the lower-cost 4-point sibling for installations that only need a basic voltage / current read into the CPU.
Can the CJ1W-AD04U read 4-20 mA and voltage on the same unit?
Yes. Each of the 4 channels takes an independent range setting, so channels 1 and 2 can be 4-20 mA while channels 3 and 4 are 0-10 V. Use the front DIP switches to set the range per channel before powering the unit.
Does this unit work with a CJ1M CPU?
Yes. The CJ1W-AD04U mounts on any CJ-series rack — CPU rack or expansion rack — and communicates with any CJ1, CJ1M, CJ2M, or CJ2H CPU through standard I/O read / write instructions. For an NJ-series controller, use an NJ system that mounts CJ-series expansion racks through the CJ1W-IC101 I/O control unit.
