Product Overview

The Omron CJ1W-BAT01 is a 3 V lithium backup battery for the CJ-series and NJ/NSJ-series CPUs, manufactured by Omron Corporation. Hengyixin Automation stocks this controller in Xiamen and ships within 3-5 business days to most Asian, European, and North American ports.

Inside the cartridge is a single CR14250SE-CJ lithium manganese dioxide cell, 3.0 V, 850 mAh. It keeps the RAM and the real-time clock alive on power loss, so the program, retained data and clock do not clear. Omron rates battery life at about 5 years at 25 °C. A short wired lead plugs into a white connector on the CPU; you can swap it hot without losing the program if the CPU stays powered.

It fits the CJ1M, CJ2H (including the CJ2H-CPU64-EIP), CJ2M, NJ501, and NSJ-series CPUs. It does not fit the CS1, CPM2A or CJ1G/H families, and it is not the right battery for a CP-series PLC. Replace it as soon as the CPU shows a battery-low alarm.

What does the Omron CJ1W-BAT01 do?
It keeps the CPU's RAM and the real-time clock alive when the panel power is off. Without it, a power-off longer than the capacitor hold-up would clear the program, the retained data and the clock on a CJ1M, CJ2H, CJ2M, NJ501 or NSJ CPU.
How long does the CJ1W-BAT01 last?
Omron rates it at about 5 years at 25 °C. Higher ambient temperatures, frequent power cycles or longer outages shorten that. Replace it when the CPU raises a battery-low alarm, not on a fixed calendar.
Can the CJ1W-BAT01 be hot-swapped?
Yes, as long as the CPU stays powered while you swap the battery. The program and the clock stay in RAM. Omron recommends finishing the swap within a few minutes.
Will the CJ1W-BAT01 fit a CP1L or CP1E?
No. CP-series PLCs take a different battery with a different holder and connector. Buying a CJ1W-BAT01 for a CP1L is a common mix-up.
What is the difference between CJ1W-BAT01 and CS1W-BAT01?
The CS1W-BAT01 is a different cartridge for CS1-series CPUs. The CJ1W-BAT01 does not fit a CS1 rack, and the CS1W-BAT01 will not seat in a CJ-series holder.
