The Omron CK3W-CAX003A is the 0.3 m shielded expansion cable used to link a CK3W-EXM01 Expansion Master Unit to a CK3W-EXS02 Expansion Slave Unit on the second rack of a CK3M-series multi-axis controller, manufactured by Omron Corporation. The cable carries the CK bus signal and the 5 VDC supply between the EXM01 and the EXS02, so no separate supply is needed at the slave end. What does the CK3W-CAX003A connect?
It connects one CK3W-EXM01 Expansion Master to one CK3W-EXS02 Expansion Slave on a CK3M multi-axis controller. One cable per slave, because the EXM01 side has a single expansion port and does not support daisy-chaining multiple slaves on the same connector.
Is the CK3W-CAX003A longer than 0.3 m available?
No. Omron only ships the 0.3 m version. For longer rack spacing, move the EXM01 closer to the EXS02 rather than substitute a longer cable, because the CK bus is designed for a short fixed run between the two modules.
Does the CK3W-CAX003A need its own power supply?
No. The cable carries 5 VDC from the EXM01 bus to the EXS02, so the slave is bus-powered and no extra supply is needed at the slave end. The CK3W-PD048 system PSU on the first rack still feeds the EXM01.
Can the CK3W-CAX003A be used with NX102 or NJ controllers?
No. This cable is part of the CK3W expansion system and only fits the CK3W-EXM01 and CK3W-EXS02 modules. NX I/O uses the NX I/O Bus connector on the side of each slice, and NJ-series controllers use CJ1W I/O racks, which are not CAX003A-compatible.
