What is the difference between snap-action and slow-action contacts?
The D4NS-1AF is a slow-action (simultaneous-make / simultaneous-break) switch — both the NC and NO contacts change state at the SAME moment as the key crosses a threshold position (around 6 mm insertion). A snap-action (D4NS-2BF or similar) switch has a mechanical snap mechanism that ensures the contact state changes INSTANTLY when the threshold is crossed — the snap action reduces the contact bounce that occurs on slow-action switches during slow door approach.
What's the difference between D4NS and D4BL?
Both are safety door interlock switches in Omron's D4-series, but they serve different applications.
