Product Overview
The Omron E3T-ST13 is an ultrathin cuboid through-beam photoelectric sensor from the E3T miniature series, manufactured by Omron Corporation. The sensor pairs an emitter and receiver in a side-view housing 7 mm wide, 18.5 mm tall and 9.5 mm deep. It detects opaque objects 2 mm or larger across a 1 m gap. Output is PNP open-collector, Light-ON only, switching up to 50 mA at 26.4 VDC. Response time is 1 ms.

Is the E3T-ST13 still in production?
Sources disagree on this one. DigiKey - Omron's authorised global distributor - lists the E3T-ST13 as Active (in stock, 93 factory units, 9-week lead time), and OEMstron also lists it Active. Octopart, however, carries an Obsolete flag with a last-time-buy of 2024-03-31 and last-time-delivery of 2024-06-30. We could not find an Omron discontinuation notice for this model, and the E3T family page shows no end-of-production notice. If the machine is running, treat it as orderable and confirm the position with Omron for your region before committing to a long-term plan.
What wire colours does the E3T-ST13 use?
Brown is +V (12 to 24 VDC), blue is 0 V and black is the PNP output. Wire brown to the 24 VDC supply, blue to common and black to a 24 VDC PLC input such as the CP1W-ID211.
What is the minimum object the E3T-ST13 can detect?
Opaque objects 2 mm diameter or larger at the rated 1 m range. For sub-millimetre detection, use the 0.5 mm slit accessory E39-S63 with the emitter and receiver.
