The E3X-HD41 is the PNP-output variant of Omron's E3X-HD smart fiber-optic amplifier family — a digital amplifier with a twin 7-segment display that simultaneously shows the incident light level (red digits) and the threshold setting (green digits), so an installer can see at a glance whether the sensor has enough margin between 'detected' and 'clear' states. The amplifier accepts any E32-series fiber-optic cable on the front face — through-beam (E32-T), diffuse (E32-D), or retro-reflective (E32-R) — and the same amplifier handles all three sensing modes. The PNP open-collector output sources 24 VDC into the load (sink current max 100 mA) with a typical 1 ms response time suitable for most conveyor and parts-detection applications.

The dual red + green 7-segment display on the front face is the key diagnostic feature. The red display shows the incident light level (0-4095 count), updated in real time, so an installer can see the dynamic range between 'target detected' and 'target absent'. The green display shows the threshold setting (also 0-4095). When the red display is above the green display, the output is ON; when below, OFF. The 4-digit resolution lets you set the threshold to within ~0.1 % of full scale, 4× finer than the older E3X-NA's analog bar graph display.
