The standard E3X-NA11 2M with a diffuse-reflective fiber (E32-D@@@) CANNOT reliably detect clear or transparent objects (clear glass, transparent films, PET bottles) because the light passes through the target rather than reflecting back. For transparent objects, use: (a) Retro-reflective fiber (E32-R@@@) with a separate reflector (E39-R1 or E39-R1S) - the fiber detects light bouncing off the reflector; when a transparent object is in the beam path, some light is refracted/reflected away and the sensor triggers.
