The Omron E5AC-CX3ASM-804 is a digital PID temperature controller in the 96×96 mm E5AC family, sized for panel cutouts where a larger, easy-to-read display matters. The E5AC-800 generation uses a 25 mm-tall white PV display so process values stay readable from across the cabinet. It accepts a universal input — thermocouple, Pt100, ES1B infrared, or analog (4-20 mA, 0-20 mA, 1-5 V, 0-5 V, 0-10 V). Control output 1 is linear 4-20 mA for a thyristor or analog-driven actuator. Three relay auxiliary outputs handle alarms, two event inputs accept external switches (RUN / STOP, manual / auto, remote SP), and RS-485 communication is fitted. Why linear output rather than relay
Relay outputs switch ON/OFF, which causes process oscillation on fast heaters. A linear 4-20 mA output drives a thyristor (e.g., the G3PX series) in proportion to PID demand, so a 200 W and a 20 kW heater both run with the same control stability. Three relay auxiliary outputs handle alarms; use the event inputs for a panel-mounted RUN/STOP key and an auto/manual selector.
