What sensor inputs does E5AC-CX3ASM-804 accept?
It accepts any thermocouple type in the E5_C list (K, J, T, E, L, U, N, R, S, B, W), Pt100 or JPt100 RTD in 2- or 3-wire, the ES1B non-contact infrared sensor, or a 4-20 mA / 0-20 mA / 1-5 V / 0-5 V / 0-10 V analog signal. Switch between them in the parameter menu, so one controller can run different zones on the same machine.
How does the linear 4-20 mA output wire up?
The linear output terminal drives a thyristor (G3PX series, E5CK-T / G3PW, etc.) with a 4-20 mA loop, with the load resistance held below 500 Ω. It is the right pick for proportional control of electric heaters, where ON/OFF relays cause process cycling. Use the auxiliary relay outputs for alarm signalling, not for proportional load switching.
