Product Overview

The Omron NB7W-TW00B is the original NB7W 7-inch wide-screen programmable terminal. Pick it for a small panel that needs an Ethernet uplink plus two serial lines, without paying for the USB memory-stick recipe slot the TW01B adds.

The display is a 7.0-inch WVGA TFT at 800 x 480 with 65,536 colors and a white LED backlight rated for 50,000 hours. Project memory is 128 MB, big enough for a typical NB-Designer page set with recipes and trends. The resistive touch layer carries a 1,000,000-cycle life at 0.5 to 0.8 N operating force, and the panel takes a 24 VDC supply at around 6 W.

Around the back the TW00B has one RJ45 10/100 Base-TX port plus a COM1 DB-9 (RS-232C) and a COM2 DB-9 (RS-232C / RS-422A / RS-485). A USB-B slave port is for project upload from a PC or PictBridge print. There is no USB-A host, no memory card slot, and no battery-backed clock on this SKU — those features are on the full TW01B sibling.

Programming uses NB-Designer drag-and-drop. The same project moves freely across the NB3Q / NB5Q / NB7W / NB10W siblings without rework, so a panel swap only needs a page resize. Front protection is IP65 against panel-face splash and dust only — the rear housing is not sealed, so plan the cutout in a cabinet door or wall that keeps the back side dry.

Key Features

  • 7.0-inch widescreen TFT color LCD, 800 x 480 WVGA, 65,536 colors
  • White LED backlight with 50,000-hour half-life
  • 128 MB internal project memory (full system memory including OS)
  • 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet (RJ45) on the back panel
  • COM1: DB-9 RS-232C for Host Link / NT Link / no-protocol
  • COM2: DB-9 RS-232C / RS-422A / RS-485 selectable
  • USB-B slave port for NB-Designer project upload and PictBridge print
  • No USB-A host, no memory card slot, no battery-backed clock
  • 24 VDC -15% / +15% supply (20.4 to 27.6 V) at 6 W max
  • IP65 front panel only (not IP65F or IP67)
  • 148 x 202 x 46 mm body, 192 x 138 mm panel cutout, 0 to +50 °C
  • NB-Designer drag-and-drop programming with Smart Active Parts library
  • SKU: NB7W-TW00B
  • Series: NB-series programmable terminal (NB-TW)

Best-Fit Applications

  • Machine panel for serial-connected Omron CJ / CP / CS PLCs
  • Operator station networked to a SCADA / HMI server over Ethernet
  • Skid-mount HMI that only needs Host Link or Modbus on RS-485 (COM2)
  • Drop-in replacement for an NS10-series panel that is being rescaled to NB-Designer
  • Small PLC cabinet where the full-feature TW01B is overkill

Buying Checklist

  • Pick the NB7W-TW00B when you want the Ethernet port on a 7-inch NB without paying for memory-stick support.
  • Pick the NB7W-TW01B instead when the build needs a USB memory-stick port for recipe transfer.
  • Pick the NB7W-TW11B for a stripped Ethernet-only NB-S panel with no serial ports.
  • Pick the NB5Q-TW00B when a 5.6-inch QVGA panel is enough for the build.
  • Pick the NB10W-TW01B for a larger 10.1-inch widescreen panel.
  • Confirm the project does not need a battery clock — the TW00B has none; if it does, step up to TW01B.

FAQ for NB7W-TW00B

Does the NB7W-TW00B have Ethernet?
Yes. The TW00B carries one 10/100 Base-TX RJ45 port on the back panel alongside the two serial COM ports. What it does not carry is the USB-A host port for memory-stick recipes, the SD memory card slot, or the battery-backed clock — those are on the TW01B.
Can I load a TW01B project on a TW00B?
The .nlpx project compiled for the TW00B features will run, but any pages that call on the USB memory stick, the memory card slot, or the battery clock will be silently inactive on the TW00B. Audit the project for those widgets before the swap.
What software programs the NB7W-TW00B?
NB-Designer is the standard programming environment for the whole NB3Q / NB5Q / NB7W / NB10W family. Projects move between screen sizes with a page-resize step — no ladder or ST code change is needed.
Will the NB7W-TW00B cutout accept an NS10 replacement?
No. The NB7W panel cutout is 192 x 138 mm; an NS10 cutout is 235 x 165.6 mm. A reducer bezel is needed if you are replacing an NS10 with an NB7W. Within the NB family the TW00B swaps directly into a TW01B cutout with no rework.
