How many safety I/O points does the NX-SL3500 support?
Up to 1024 safety I/O points across 128 FSoE master connections. Each NX-SID800 adds 8 inputs; each NX-SOD400 adds 4 outputs. Mix and match with standard NX I/O on the same EtherCAT Coupler for a single-cable safety and standard control system.
Does the NX-SL3500 connect directly to the NX EtherCAT Coupler?
Yes - the SL3500 mounts on an NX-ECC201 or NX-ECC202 EtherCAT Coupler on the DIN rail. It cannot mount directly on an NX102 CPU; route the safety CPU through a Coupler instead. The SL3500 does not run on an NX-EIC202 EtherNet/IP Coupler per the official compatibility matrix.
What software configures the NX-SL3500?
Sysmac Studio V1.10 or later handles safety logic, FSoE connections and verification. Programming is in function block diagram with safety function blocks from the Sysmac library. Online monitoring of the safety program runs alongside the standard NJ / NX ladder program.
Is the NX-SL3500 SIL 3 rated?
