Product Overview

The Omron R88D-1SN08H-ECT is the 1S-series EtherCAT drive for 200 V 750 W servo motors. Pick it on a new Sysmac build when the cabinet needs a compact 200 V / 750 W servo on the same EtherCAT ring as the NJ / NX motion controller.

The drive accepts single-phase or 3-phase 200-240 VAC main power (170-252 V) at 7.3 A single / 4.0 A 3-phase at 240 V, plus a 24 VDC control supply (21.6-26.4 V) at 600 mA. Output is 0-240 V variable-frequency 3-phase at 4.6 Arms continuous and 16.9 Arms peak. The dedicated absolute encoder port reads 23-bit battery-less ABS encoders (no battery to replace) at up to 6,000 rpm mechanical.

On the front face: OMRON wordmark, RUN / ERR / L/A IN / L/A OUT LEDs, two EtherCAT RJ45 ports (ECAT IN / ECAT OUT) for daisy-chain, an ADR rotary for the drive address, the CN7 mini-USB console port, and a push-in spring terminal block (L1 / L2 / L3 main + L1C / L2C control) on the bottom. EtherCAT runs at 100BASE-TX with a 125 us to 10 ms communications cycle in DC mode (sync with Sync0 event). The CiA 402 drive profile covers cyclic-synchronous position / velocity / torque, profile position / velocity, homing, touch-probe, and torque limit. Sysmac Studio is the configuration environment.

Safety is built in via the hardwired STO input (Safe Torque Off) per EN ISO 13849-1 Cat 3 PL e / EN 61508 SIL 3. For distributed safety over EtherCAT (STO / SS1 / SS2 / SLS / SDI / SOS / SLP), move to the R88D-1SN08H-ECT-S2 (1S-series with FSoE) or the Accurax G5 R88D-KN08H-ECT-Z on existing G5 cabinets.

Is the R88D-1SN08H-ECT the same as the Accurax G5?
No. The R88D-1SN[] is the Omron 1S-series EtherCAT drive -- the standard 200 V entry in the new 1S line with STO safety. The Accurax G5 family is the R88D-KN[] (e.g. R88D-KN08H-ECT-Z). They share a similar housing but the 1S line adds the 23-bit battery-less ABS encoder, the improved loop control, and simplified push-in terminals. Pick 1S for new Sysmac builds; pick G5 as a like-for-like spare on existing G5 cabinets.
What motor pairs with the R88D-1SN08H-ECT?
The 750 W 3,000-r/min R88M-1M75030T 1S-series servomotor with a 23-bit battery-less ABS encoder is the matching axis.
