Product Overview

The Omron S8VK-T48024 turns a 380–480 VAC cabinet feed into 24 VDC for a large group of control devices. It provides 480 W at 20 A and accepts either a two-phase or three-phase connection. A rated high-voltage DC input is also supported. This makes it a strong fit for machinery that already has 400 or 480 VAC available and needs substantial control power without a separate low-voltage AC feed.

Where the 480 W model fits

Use this size for large PLC and remote-I/O cabinets, network hardware, valve groups, and panels with many sensors or relay coils. The supply is fanless, mounts on DIN rail, and uses screw terminals. Its coated boards and broad temperature range suit demanding industrial cabinets, provided the installation follows the datasheet cooling limits.

T48024 or S48024?

Choose S8VK-T48024 when the panel is fed from 380–480 VAC two or three phase. Choose S8VK-S48024 for 100–240 VAC single-phase power and Push-In Plus wiring. The S model is narrower and includes a low-voltage alarm output; the T model connects directly to the higher-voltage plant supply. For a smaller load on the same high-voltage feed, the S8VK-T24024 supplies 10 A from a 60 mm-wide case.

Before ordering

Keep the normal load within 20 A and treat the 24 A boost as temporary startup capacity only. Confirm that the measured AC input is within range; 208 or 230 VAC is not suitable. Allow 95 mm of rail width plus the cooling space stated by Omron. Check wire size, branch protection, mounting direction, and the reduced load limits that apply in hot cabinets.

FAQ for S8VK-T48024

What is the difference between S8VK-T48024 and S8VK-S48024?
Both provide 480 W at 24 VDC and 20 A, but they suit different cabinet feeds. The T48024 accepts 380–480 VAC two or three phase and uses screw terminals. The S48024 accepts 100–240 VAC single phase, uses Push-In Plus terminals, and includes a low-voltage alarm output.
Can the S8VK-T48024 run on 208 or 230 VAC?
No. Those voltages are below the published AC input range. The allowable minimum is 320 VAC with three-phase input and 340 VAC with two-phase input. For a 208 or 230 VAC cabinet, choose a single-phase supply whose input range includes the measured voltage.
Is the S8VK-T48024 24 A boost available continuously?
No. The normal rating is 20 A. Omron limits the 24 A boost to 10 seconds, with a maximum 30% duty and an average current no higher than the normal rating. Select a larger supply if the steady load can exceed 20 A.
