Product Overview

The Omron S8VK-T24024 supplies 24 VDC control power directly from a 380–480 VAC cabinet feed. It accepts either two-phase or three-phase AC, as well as a high-voltage DC input. Its 240 W, 10 A output suits machines that have outgrown a small control supply but do not need the capacity of the 480 W model. The unit mounts on DIN rail, uses screw terminals, and has coated circuit boards.

Where this 240 W model fits

This power supply is a practical main source for a medium PLC rack, remote I/O, an HMI, sensors, relays, and 24 VDC valve controls. It is especially useful when the machine already has a 400 or 480 VAC feed and no separate 230 V control circuit. The 60 mm-wide case also leaves more rail space than the higher-output S8VK-T48024.

Choosing the right S8VK supply

Choose the S8VK-T24024 when the normal load is above the 5 A rating of the T12024 but comfortably below 10 A. Move to the T48024 when a 20 A supply gives better room for expansion. If the cabinet has only 100–240 VAC single-phase power, choose the S8VK-G24024 instead. A brief 12 A power boost can cover short startup demand, but it is not extra continuous capacity.

Before ordering

Add the steady current of every connected device and leave room for later additions. Confirm the available line voltage; 208 or 230 VAC is below this model’s permitted AC range. Check the required cooling space and the load limits for the chosen mounting position and cabinet temperature. Two matching units can share a load only when Omron’s parallel-operation conditions are followed.

  • 10 A rated output
  • 380–480 VAC two- or three-phase input
  • 120% short-term power boost
  • Coated circuit boards
  • Screw terminals and DIN-rail mounting
  • Parallel operation for up to two matching units
  • SKU: S8VK-T24024
  • Series: S8VK-T24024
  • Voltage: 24 VDC
  • I/O: 24 I/O

Best-Fit Applications

  • PLC and remote I/O power in 400 V packaging-machine cabinets
  • Sensors, relays, and valve controls on automated assembly equipment
  • Material-handling panels without a separate 230 V control feed
  • Medium control cabinets needing more than 5 A at 24 VDC

Buying Checklist

  • Confirm the cabinet feed is within the allowed high-voltage input range.
  • Check the continuous control load stays within 10 A.
  • Choose S8VK-T12024 when 5 A is enough and rail space is tighter.
  • Choose S8VK-T48024 when the panel needs more current or expansion room.
  • Choose S8VK-G24024 for a 100–240 VAC single-phase cabinet feed.
  • Allow for cooling space and any temperature or mounting derating.

FAQ for S8VK-T24024

Can the S8VK-T24024 use two phases instead of all three?
Yes. Omron rates the S8VK-T24024 for either two-phase or three-phase 380–480 VAC input. Use the matching connection diagram and upstream protection in the datasheet. The allowed lower input limit differs by connection, so confirm the measured line voltage rather than assuming any two phases are suitable.
What is the difference between S8VK-T24024 and S8VK-G24024?
Both deliver 240 W at 24 VDC and 10 A. The T24024 connects to a 380–480 VAC two- or three-phase feed, while the G24024 accepts 100–240 VAC single phase. Choose between them mainly by the power already available in the cabinet.
Can two S8VK-T24024 supplies be connected in parallel?
Yes, up to two matching units can share a load. Omron requires three-phase input, standard mounting, an ambient temperature from -25 to 40 °C, closely matched output voltages, and equal load wiring. Use the datasheet arrangement rather than simply joining two outputs.
