The Omron S8VS-24024A supplies 24 VDC to larger control panels and gives maintenance staff useful readings at the cabinet. Its front display shows output voltage, current, peak current, and an estimate of remaining maintenance time. Two sinking transistor outputs can send low-voltage and maintenance alerts to compatible PLC inputs. This S8VS power supply uses screw terminals, mounts on DIN rail, and accepts a single-phase AC feed or an allowed DC input.
Choosing this 240 W version
Use this model when the steady control load needs more capacity than the 180 W or 120 W versions can provide. The A suffix means it has a maintenance forecast monitor with sinking alarm outputs. S8VS-24024AP provides the same power and display with sourcing outputs, while S8VS-24024B replaces the forecast with a total-run-time monitor. The standard S8VS-24024 leaves out the display and alarm outputs.
Useful information at the panel
A technician can check the present load and review the highest recorded current without attaching a separate meter. The forecast tracks operating time and internal temperature to estimate capacitor aging. It is a maintenance guide, not a guarantee that every type of fault will be predicted. The low-voltage output reports a drop at the supply terminals; it is not a load-level pre-alarm.

Add every normal 24 VDC load and leave sensible room for future I/O or field devices. Confirm the PLC input works with sinking transistor signals; these alarm connections are not dry relay contacts.
