Product Overview

The Omron 3G3MX2-A4007-V2 is a compact variable-frequency drive in the MX2 series, rated at 0.75 kW heavy-duty (1.5 kW light-duty) on a 3-phase 400 V supply. The 'A4' in the model code marks 3-phase 400 V, '007' marks the 0.75 kW power class, and 'V2' marks the second-generation MX2 with a built-in option slot for EtherCAT, CompoNet, or DeviceNet communication cards. It runs sensorless vector control with 200 % starting torque at 0.5 Hz, includes a built-in EMC filter, and supports Safe Torque Off (STO) to EN ISO 13849-1 PLd. It is the standard pick for small conveyors, fans, pumps, and mixers on a 400 V three-phase supply.

Why the V2 variant

The MX2 line replaced the older MX and 3G3MV drives, and the V2 generation added a slot for the 3G3AX-MX2-ECT (EtherCAT), 3G3AX-MX2-CRT (CompoNet), or 3G3AX-MX2-DRT (DeviceNet) communication option cards. The bare inverter without the option card still supports RS-485 Modbus and the CX-Drive programming tool. Pick the V2 when you plan to add a fieldbus option later; pick the non-V2 MX2-A4007 if you do not need the option slot.

Heavy-duty vs light-duty

The 3G3MX2-A4007-V2 is rated 0.75 kW heavy-duty (150 % overload for 60 s) or 1.5 kW light-duty (120 % overload for 60 s). Heavy-duty is the default for conveyors, mixers, and extruders; light-duty is for fans, pumps, and other variable-torque loads. Switch the drive between HD and LD modes with parameter C0-01 in CX-Drive.

Before ordering

Confirm the supply is 3-phase 380-480 V at 50/60 Hz; for single-phase 200 V supply, pick the 3G3MX2-AB007-V2 instead. Confirm the motor is rated for the same voltage and current as the drive. Fit a line reactor on the input side when the supply impedance is low or the cable run to the drive is long. Order the 3G3AX-MX2-ECT option card if you need EtherCAT connectivity to an NJ / NX controller.

FAQ for 3G3MX2-A4007-V2

What is the difference between V2 and non-V2 MX2 drives?
The V2 is the second-generation MX2 with a built-in slot for an EtherCAT, CompoNet, or DeviceNet option card (3G3AX-MX2-xxx). The non-V2 MX2 drives do not have the option slot and rely only on built-in RS-485 Modbus. Pick V2 when you plan to add a fieldbus connection to an NJ / NX controller; pick non-V2 when you do not.
Can this drive run a single-phase 200 V motor?
No. The 3G3MX2-A4007-V2 needs a 3-phase 380-480 V supply; it cannot run from single-phase 200 V. For single-phase 200 V supply, pick the 3G3MX2-AB007-V2 instead. For 3-phase 200 V, use the 3G3MX2-A2007-V2. Confirm the supply voltage and phase count before ordering the drive.
What option card adds EtherCAT to this drive?
The 3G3AX-MX2-ECT EtherCAT option card drops into the option slot on the V2 inverter and exposes the drive as a standard CiA402 slave on an EtherCAT network. Pair it with the 3G3MX2-A4007-V2 and an NJ501-1300 / NX102-9000 controller for a typical machine-control loop.
