The 3G3MX2-A4110-V2 is the 11 kW step in Omron's MX2 V2 lineup — sitting between the 7.5 kW A4075-V2 and the 15 kW A4150-V2 in the 400V three-phase class. The -V2 suffix matters: it identifies the 2024 firmware revision with updated motor auto-tune algorithms and improved low-speed torque. Non-V2 (legacy) drives are still in the field and Omron continues to support them, but new installations should use V2. In normal duty (ND) the A4110-V2 drives 11 kW motors at constant torque; in light duty (LD) it can drive 15 kW motors at variable torque (fans, centrifugal pumps). The rated output current is 24.0 A in ND / 31.0 A in LD. Sensorless vector control gives decent low-speed torque without an encoder feedback card — adequate for most conveyor and pump applications, but for precise low-speed servo-grade holding, you'd step up to a servo drive (R88D-KN or 1S-series). The -V2 is the standard model with no EMC filter; the -EV2 has a built-in EN 61800-3 category C2 EMC filter. For industrial panels with their own filtering, the -V2 is the cheaper choice.
Does the 3G3MX2-A4110-V2 need a braking resistor?
For most pump and fan applications (low inertia, gentle decel), no. For high-inertia loads like large flywheels, conveyors running downhill, or rapid-stop applications, yes — the drive has a built-in braking transistor but the resistor is external.
