Product Overview
The 3G3MX2-AB004-V2 is the 0.4 kW step in the MX2 V2 single-phase 200V class — sitting between the 0.2 kW AB002 and the 0.75 kW AB007. The 'AB' suffix identifies single-phase 200V input; the 'A2' suffix is three-phase 200V, and the 'A4' suffix is three-phase 400V. Mixing these up is a common procurement error: the AB models can only accept single-phase input. The 0.4 kW / 0.5 HP rating covers a lot of OEM machinery: small conveyors, dosing pumps, peristaltic pumps, agitators, small fans, and metering skids. The single-phase 200-240V input is the practical sweet spot for light-commercial and small industrial environments in the EU, UK, Australia, and most of Asia — anywhere you only have 230V single-phase available, not three-phase. On the input side, the drive accepts 1-phase 200-240V at 50/60 Hz. It then rectifies to DC internally and synthesises a 3-phase output to drive a standard 3-phase induction motor. This is the standard 'single-phase to 3-phase VFD' topology. The drive can NOT power a single-phase motor — only 3-phase induction motors work with VFDs in this configuration. Sensorless vector control gives the same benefits as on larger MX2 models: better low-speed torque, more stable speed under load changes. The V2 firmware adds improved auto-tune that handles most small motors without manual parameter entry. Common use: OEM packaging machine retrofit where the line was originally fixed-speed and the customer wants speed control. The AB004 replaces a contactor + thermal overload setup and gives the operator a 0-60Hz potentiometer knob on the front of the cabinet, with no need to pull in a three-phase supply.
