Product Overview

The C200HW-PA204 is the mains power supply for a C200H or C200HS series PLC rack. It accepts 100 to 120 VAC or 200 to 240 VAC input (auto-ranging, no switch to set) and delivers 4.6 A at 5 VDC to the backplane. That powers the CPU, the I/O units, and any special-function cards mounted in the rack. It mounts in the leftmost slot of a C200HW-BI051 (5-slot), C200HW-BI081 (8-slot), or C200HW-BI101 (10-slot) backplane. The supply draws about 23 W at full load and needs a standard 100 or 200 VAC service feed.

Picking the right sibling

The C200HW-PA204 (this SKU) is the base supply with no 24 VDC service voltage and no healthy-output contact. If you also need the 24 VDC service feed (0.8 A) for sensors and relays, pick the C200HW-PA204S. If you want a panel-lamp or alarm input from a healthy-supply contact, pick the C200HW-PA204R. All three mount in the same slot at 122 mm depth, so they are drop-in service replacements for each other when a unit fails.

Replacements and migration

The C200H family is long discontinued. New units feed only the secondary channel stock market, which is the supply chain this product supports. When your line is ready to migrate, move to the CJ-series: CJ1W-PA205R supply, CJ1W-BI081 backplane, and a CJ2M-CPU33 CPU (or CJ2H-CPU64-EIP for larger programs).

Before ordering or installing

Confirm your backplane model (C200HW-BI051, BI081, or BI101) — the supply only fits the leftmost slot. If the site uses both 100 and 200 VAC service, this supply covers either voltage range without switch changes. Always isolate the LG and GR terminals before dielectric testing, or you will damage the CPU.

Key Features

  • Mains power supply for C200H / C200HS PLC racks
  • 100 to 120 VAC or 200 to 240 VAC input, auto-ranging
  • 4.6 A at 5 VDC output for backplane power
  • Fits leftmost slot of any C200HW-BI@@@ backplane
  • 122 mm deep — same as C200H I/O units
  • No 24 VDC service output (use PA204S if needed)
  • No healthy-output contact (use PA204R if needed)
  • Service-replacement spare for legacy C200H systems
  • SKU: C200HW-PA204
  • Series: C200HW-PA204
  • Voltage: 100 TO 120 VAC
  • I/O: 100 I/O

Best-Fit Applications

  • Service replacement on a still-running C200H line
  • Spares stock for C200H fleet maintenance
  • Restoring a C200HS machine when the supply fails
  • Phased C200H-to-CJ-series migration

Buying Checklist

  • Pick C200HW-PA204 for the base 4.6 A / 5 VDC supply (this SKU)
  • Pick C200HW-PA204S if you also want the 24 VDC service output
  • Pick C200HW-PA204R if you need a healthy-supply contact
  • Pick CJ1W-PA205R for new CJ-series designs
  • Disconnect the LG and GR terminals during dielectric testing — leaving them connected will damage the CPU

FAQ for C200HW-PA204

Is the C200HW-PA204 still in production?
No. The C200H family was discontinued many years ago, with CS1 as the official successor and CJ2M as the modern equivalent. New C200HW-PA204 units are no longer manufactured. Units are still available through authorised distributors' secondary channel stock. For new designs, use the CJ1W-PA205R or CJ1W-PD025 supply on a CJ-series backplane.
What is the difference between PA204, PA204S, and PA204R?
All three are 4.6 A / 5 VDC C200H supplies with the same footprint. PA204 (this SKU) is the base unit with no service voltage and no healthy contact. PA204S adds a 0.8 A / 24 VDC service output. PA204R adds a healthy-output contact for a panel lamp or alarm. PA209R is the high-power variant (still 4.6 A / 5 VDC plus the service and run features) at 153 mm depth instead of 122 mm.
What backplanes does it fit?
The three C200H backplanes: C200HW-BI051 (5 slots, 3 I/O), C200HW-BI081 (8 slots, 5 I/O), and C200HW-BI101 (10 slots, 7 I/O). The PA204 mounts in the leftmost slot of any of these — only the leftmost, because the AC input is on top and the 5 VDC connector is on the rear.
Why does it have no 24 VDC output?
The base C200HW-PA204 supplies only 5 VDC for the backplane. For 24 VDC service to feed sensors or relays, either add a separate DIN-rail supply (S8VK series) or order the C200HW-PA204S, which has the 24 VDC service output built in. C200H-OD transistor output units still need a separately fused 24 VDC feed.
