Does the CP1W-EXT01 extend the I/O bus on a CP1E?
No. The CP1W-EXT01 is for the CP1H and CP1L CPU lines only. CP1E and CP2E CPUs do not support CJ-series I/O bus units.
How many CJ-series units can the CP1W-EXT01 host?
Up to 2 CJ-series Special I/O or CPU Bus Units. CP1H and CP1L are limited by the I/O bus cycle time and the current draw from the backplane, not by the adapter itself.
Do I need a CP1W-CN811 cable with the CP1W-EXT01?
Only when the CJ chain has to sit offset from the CPU. Direct-mount the CJ units against the adapter when the panel layout allows it.
Is the CP1W-EXT01 a CJ1W-IC101?
No. The CJ1W-IC101 is an I/O control unit on a CJ1 / CJ2 rack. The CP1W-EXT01 is a small adapter for a CP1H / CP1L host and does not have its own CPU-bus logic.
