The CP2E-N60DT1-D is the 60 I/O point, dual-Ethernet variant of Omron's CP2E compact PLC family, designed for small-to-medium machines where the CP1E legacy family has been discontinued. It carries 36 digital inputs (PNP/NPN compatible, 24 VDC) and 24 PNP sourcing transistor outputs (24 VDC, 0.5 A per point), all wired through a removable M3 screw terminal block. The 24 VDC power supply variant ("-D" suffix) is the right pick for battery-backed or 24 V-only cabinets, vs the 100–240 VAC variant ("-A" suffix) used in facilities with conventional AC mains.
The CP2E family splits along two axes: I/O count and Ethernet capability. On I/O count: CP2E-@14 (14 I/O), CP2E-@20 (20 I/O), CP2E-@30 (30 I/O), CP2E-@40 (40 I/O), CP2E-@60 (60 I/O, this SKU). On Ethernet: CP2E-E Essential (no Ethernet), CP2E-S Standard (Ethernet on 30/40/60 models), CP2E-N Network (always dual Ethernet, this SKU). Combine the two: CP2E-N60 = 60 I/O, dual Ethernet. The third axis is power supply: "-D" = 24 VDC, "-A" = 100–240 VAC. The fourth axis is output type: "DT" = NPN sinking transistor, "DT1" = PNP sourcing transistor (this SKU), "DR" = relay.
The CP2E-N supports up to 4 axes of motion control via transistor pulse outputs: configurable as single-axis positioning, linear interpolation, or pulse + direction. Pulse output frequency is 100 kHz per axis on the 40 I/O and 60 I/O Network models — enough for stepper drives up to 100,000 steps/second, or servo drives with pulse-position input. High-speed counters (HSC) handle up to 100 kHz on 4 axes for encoder feedback. The CP2E program memory is 10 kStep (CP2E-N Network) — vs the CP2E-S Standard with 8 kStep — so network models have more headroom for FB-rich programs.
The dual Ethernet ports are the CP2E-N's killer feature for IIoT: port 1 connects to the plant MES or SCADA system (Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, FINS), port 2 connects to a local HMI (NB series or NS series) or a second machine. Use the built-in FTP client to push recipe data, alarm logs, or batch records up to a server without buying a separate IoT gateway. Use Modbus TCP master on port 2 to poll inverters, temperature controllers, or power meters as slaves — the CP2E-N can be a Modbus TCP gateway without extra hardware.
