Product Overview

The NS15-TX01B-V2 is the 15-inch variant in Omron's NS-series HMI line — the largest screen size in the family, with XGA (1024x768) resolution for complex multi-window SCADA screens. The 'B' suffix is the black case (an ivory/white NS15-TX01S-V2 also exists); the 'V2' identifies the 2nd-generation firmware with refined USB handling, improved display contrast, and updated communications drivers. The 15-inch XGA screen is the right pick for applications that need to show a lot of information at once: multi-line process flows with 8-10 equipment icons, trend graphs with multiple overlaid variables, alarm summaries with 30+ rows, or video input for live camera feeds. The 32,768-color TFT gives sharp, photorealistic graphics for process visualisation. The 300-switch (20x15) matrix touch overlay supports 1,000,000 operations — about 10 years of typical use. On the connectivity side, the NS15 has the most options of any NS: Ethernet (10/100 Base-T) for FINS/TCP and Modbus/TCP to modern PLCs, 2x RS-232C for legacy serial, RS-422A/485 for multi-drop PLC networks, USB Slave for project transfer from CX-Designer, USB Master for USB memory stick data logging, and Memory Card slot for compact flash expansion. The NS15 is also the only NS with Video RGB input (for live camera feed display) and Video RGB output (for external monitor mirroring) — useful for security camera integration and remote monitoring stations. Ladder Monitor is the NS's killer feature for Omron PLC users: connect the NS to a CP1, CJ1, CS1, NJ, or NX PLC over Ethernet, and you can view the live ladder logic, monitor contact status, force bits, and trace I/O — all from the HMI without disconnecting from the running machine. For maintenance and troubleshooting, this saves the cost of a separate laptop and CX-Programmer connection. The 60MB screen memory is the same as the NS10 and NS12 — enough for hundreds of screens with images, recipe data, and alarm logs. For applications needing more, the NSJ controller (NS-series + PLC integrated) goes up to 120MB; otherwise, the NB-series (NB10W, NB12W, NB15W) is the newer replacement with up to 128MB. Programming is via CX-Designer (Windows, free). Projects transfer over USB, Ethernet, or memory card. The NS15-V2 is fully backwards compatible with V1 projects. The NS family is in long-term support but not the newest product line — for new designs, the NB or NA series is the recommended path. The NS remains the value pick for legacy NS compatibility, replacement of failed NS15 units, and integration with existing CX-Designer libraries.
