Product Overview

The Omron NS5-MQ00B-V2 is a 5.7-inch monochrome STN programmable terminal from the NS5 family, manufactured by Omron Corporation. Hengyixin Automation ships this HMI panel from Xiamen with the Sysmac Studio or NB-Designer project file on a USB drive included.

The QVGA 320 x 240 screen shows 16 grayscale gradations on a backlight whose type and service life we have not been able to confirm against Omron's published NS5-V2 table; check the datasheet for the MQ variant specifically. Touch is a 4-wire resistive panel. The unit runs on 24 VDC at 15 W max. Communication is 2 x RS-232C ports (Port A and Port B) and a USB 1.1 device port. A CompactFlash slot holds project backups and recipe data.

The front face is IP65F / NEMA Type 4. The body is 195 x 142 x 54 mm and weighs about 1 kg. Programming runs in CX-Designer under the CX-One suite. Project memory is 20 MB. For a colour STN version on the same 5.7-inch body, use the NS5-SQ10B-V2. For a 10.4-inch TFT panel, use the NS10-TV00B-V2.

What software programs the NS5-MQ00B-V2?
CX-Designer under the CX-One suite. The project supports Smart Active Parts for direct tag binding to Omron CP, CJ and CS-series PLCs over Host Link (RS-232C) or NT Link (1:1 / 1:N).
Does the NS5-MQ00B-V2 have Ethernet?
No. The -00B model has no Ethernet port. For an NS5 with Ethernet (EtherNet/IP or FINS), use the NS5-MQ01B-V2 or the colour NS5-SQ01B-V2.
Can I replace an NS5-MQ00B-V1 with the -V2 model?
Yes. The -V2 is a drop-in replacement for the -V1 on the same 195 x 142 mm cutout, with the same CX-Designer project. The new -V2 has an LED backlight and supports the latest CX-Designer version.
What CompactFlash cards fit the NS5-MQ00B-V2?
