Product Overview

The NS10-TV00B-V2 is a 10.4-inch TFT color touchscreen HMI from Omron's NS-series, built for legacy panels that talk to a CJ-series, CP1-series, or CS1 PLC over RS-232C / RS-422/485 serial only. The display is 640 × 480 pixels (VGA) with 32,768 colors, LED backlight rated for 50,000 hours to half-brightness, and a matrix-resistive analog touch overlay. The "-B" suffix means black bezel (the non-B variant NS10-TV00-V2 is ivory); the "TV00" means no built-in Ethernet (TV01 means Ethernet-equipped); the "V2" means the second-generation firmware with Smart Active Parts and improved Ladder Monitor. Power consumption is 25 W maximum from a 24 VDC supply. Project memory is 60 MB.

How NS10-TV00B-V2 differs from siblings

The NS10 family splits along four axes: bezel colour (-B = black, otherwise ivory), Ethernet (TV00 = none, TV01 = yes), firmware revision (V1 = legacy, V2 = current), and special suffix (-EC = enhanced communication). Concretely: NS10-TV00-V2 is the ivory TV00 sibling; NS10-TV01B-V2 is the black Ethernet-equipped sibling; NS10-TV01-V2 is the ivory Ethernet-equipped sibling; NS10-TV00B-ECV2 adds the enhanced-communication option (FINS routing, additional protocols). The NS10-TV00B-V2 (this SKU) is the right pick when your PLC is CP1L or CJ2M with no Ethernet/IP requirement and you want a black-bezel panel that visually matches modern machine designs.

NS10-V2 ports, programming, and integration

On the rear of the NS10-TV00B-V2 you'll find two D-sub 9-pin serial ports (port A: RS-232C only, port B: RS-232C or RS-422/485 selectable by switch) plus a USB Type-A host port (for USB memory stick project transfer and peripheral support) and a USB Type-B slave port (for direct PC connection from CX-Designer). The TV00 variant has no RJ-45 Ethernet connector — there is no TCP/IP communication available. For serial-only connections, the HMI can communicate with up to 16 host PLCs simultaneously using Host Link (SYSMAC WAY) protocol over serial, with auto-polling of allocated bit/word addresses every 100 ms or on screen event.

Discontinued April 2022 — what to use instead

The NS10-TV00B-V2 was discontinued by Omron in April 2022 (along with the entire NS-series V2 lineup). Service spares are still available from distributors and the unit remains fully supported for CX-Designer programming — but for new designs, the recommended replacement is the NA5-9W001B-V1 (9-inch WSVGA Sysmac-family panel for small-to-medium panels) or the NA5-12W101B-V1 (12.1-inch WXGA for larger HMI layouts). For budget-driven designs where Sysmac Studio integration is not required, the NB10W-TW01B (10.1-inch NB-series panel, 1,280 × 800 resolution, NB-Designer programming) is still in active production.

FAQ for NS10-TV00B-V2

What's the difference between NS10-TV00B-V2 and NS10-TV01B-V2?
The only functional difference is the Ethernet port. NS10-TV00B-V2 (this SKU) has no built-in Ethernet — it has two serial ports (RS-232C × 1, RS-232C/RS-422/RS-485 × 1) plus USB host/slave. NS10-TV01B-V2 has the same serial ports and USB but adds a 10Base-T/100Base-TX Ethernet port for FINS communications, Tag data link routing with NJ/NX controllers, and remote HMI access via CX-Designer over LAN. If your PLC talks to the HMI over Host Link serial only, the TV00 is the cost-optimised pick.
Is the NS10-TV00B-V2 still in production?
No — Omron discontinued the entire NS-series V2 lineup in April 2022. New units are no longer manufactured. NS10-TV00B-V2 units are still available from distributors' secondary channel stock and remain fully supported for CX-Designer programming, repairs, and spare-part replacement until the channel stock is exhausted. For new designs, the recommended replacement is the NA5-9W001B-V1 (9-inch) or NA5-12W101B-V1 (12.1-inch) Sysmac-family panel, or the NB10W-TW01B if you want a 10.1-inch NB-series panel that is still actively produced.
What software do I use to program the NS10-TV00B-V2?
CX-Designer, which is part of Omron's CX-One automation suite (CX-One v4.0 or later). CX-Designer is the screen-design tool — you build pages with buttons, lamps, numeric entry, trend displays, and graphs, and you bind each element to a bit or word address in the host PLC. You can install CX-One alongside Sysmac Studio on the same PC, but only CX-One is needed for NS-series HMI work.
Can I connect the NS10-TV00B-V2 to a CJ2M-CPU33 over serial?
Yes — the NS10-TV00B-V2 supports Host Link (SYSMAC WAY) and NT Link serial protocols for communication with CJ-series, CP-series, CS-series, and NJ-series PLCs. For a CJ2M-CPU33, use the CJ2M's serial port (RS-232C on the option-board slot) or add a CJ1W-SCU21-V1 / CJ1W-SCU31-V1 serial communication unit to get an RS-232C or RS-422/485 port. Connect the CJ2M serial port to the NS10's port A or port B with a straight-through RS-232C cable (or cross-over depending on the protocol mode).
