It pairs a 640×480 VGA TFT colour LCD (32,768 simultaneous colours) with a matrix-resistive touch overlay, 60 MB of dedicated screen memory, and a built-in 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port for connection to a CJ2, NJ, or NX PLC over EtherNet/IP or FINS. Two RS-232C ports handle legacy Host Link / NT Link connections and a barcode reader or recipe bank, while the USB master and slave ports allow project transfer from a memory stick or direct screen editing from a laptop.

What is the difference between NS8-TV01-V2 and NS8-TV00-V2?
Only the TV01 and TV01B variants include the built-in 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port; the TV00 / TV00B have no Ethernet and connect to the PLC only by RS-232C. The TV01 also supports the optional NS-CLK21 Controller Link Interface Unit for high-speed PLC-to-PLC messaging and Ladder Monitor. If you need Ethernet, alarm e-mail, web server, or Controller Link, you must use a TV01 variant.
Can the NS8-TV01-V2 connect to an NJ or NX controller over Ethernet?
Yes — the built-in Ethernet port supports FINS / EtherNet/IP communication to NJ, NX, NX1P, and any CJ2 / CS1 with an Ethernet module. Set the PLC IP address in CX-Designer's host configuration, choose either EtherNet/IP (cyclic tag access) or FINS (message-based), and download the project. Connection to multiple controllers is supported by registering up to 32 hosts.
What programming software does the NS8-TV01-V2 use?
CX-Designer, included in Omron's CX-One suite. V2-generation NS units require CX-Designer version 3.0 or later. Projects can be downloaded via Ethernet, USB, serial, or a Type-M memory card. CX-Designer also exports a runtime package that can be sent to a USB stick for stand-alone installation on machines without a network.
Is the NS8-TV01-V2 still in production?
The NS series has been moved to Omron's product discontinuation list with the NA5-9W001B-V1 (9-inch widescreen Sysmac HMI) as the recommended replacement.
