The Omron S8FS-C10024J is a 100 W enclosed switching power supply from the S8FS-C series, the cost-effective general-purpose tier of Omron's industrial PSU family. What makes the J different

The "J" suffix is on the model code, not a separate family. It means the unit accepts free-voltage AC 100-240 V without a slide switch. The plain S8FS-C10024 has a slide-switch on the side that the user must set to 100-120 V or 200-240 V before applying AC; mis-setting the switch is a common burn-out cause. For new machines exported worldwide or sold into cabinets fed from any AC mains, choose the J version.

What is the difference between S8FS-C10024J and S8FS-C10024?
They are the same 100 W / 24 VDC / 4.5 A supply, but the AC input stage differs. The S8FS-C10024 (no J) has a slide switch that you must set to either 100-120 VAC or 200-240 VAC before applying power. The S8FS-C10024J (with J) accepts free-voltage AC 100-240 V directly with no selector. For new machines built in countries with mixed mains, the J version avoids the common "forgot to flip the switch" burn-out.
Can the S8FS-C10024J take 110 VDC input from a battery?
Yes, the J suffix accepts DC 120-370 V, which covers common DC battery and DC bus voltages (125 VDC nominal battery systems and 220-340 VDC in solar / DC microgrids). The plain S8FS-C10024 (no J) has a wider DC range of 248-373 V and would not handle 125 VDC battery systems.
