Can I parallel two S8VK-C06024 units for redundancy?
Not directly. The S8VK-C line does not support internal current sharing between units, so paralleling two C06024 supplies output-to-output will fight each other. For 1+1 redundancy, add an S8VK-R10 redundancy unit between the two supplies and the load — it isolates the supplies, decouples the output, and gives you a redundancy OK signal. Series operation (stacking for ±24 V or 48 V) is supported with an external diode on each output.
What fuse or circuit breaker do I need on the AC input?
The internal fuse is 250 VAC 6.3 A HBC (high breaking capacity), not user-replaceable. For external protection, fit a 6 A or 8 A slow-blow MCB on the AC feed — fast-blow breakers will nuisance-trip on the 16 A peak inrush at 115 VAC or 32 A peak at 230 VAC (cold start at 25 °C). Allow at least 1.5 mm² (AWG 16) wire for the input and 2.5 mm² (AWG 14) for the output.
What happens if the panel temperature runs above 50 °C?
Above 40 °C the S8VK-C06024 derates linearly: about 90% of rated load at 50 °C and about 75% at 60 °C (standard mounting). For a panel that runs above 50 °C continuously, step up to the S8VK-C12024 (5 A) to keep the load at 50% of rating, or to the S8VK-G06024 which runs to 70 °C without derating. Side-by-side mounting derates further; check the datasheet derating curve for your exact layout.
