Does the CP1W-MAD44 need an external 24 VDC supply?
Yes. The unit draws 5 V at 90 mA from the CP1H / CP1L backplane for the logic, and 24 VDC at 200 mA from an external supply for the analog I/O stages.
Can the CP1W-MAD44 be used on a CP1E CPU?
No. The CP1W-MAD44 sits on the CP1W I/O bus and is for CP1H and CP1L hosts only. CP1E and CP2E use the CP1W-ADB21 / CP1W-DAB21V option boards or the CP1E-NA20 built-in analog I/O.
How is each channel configured?
In CX-Programmer under the PLC Setup, set each of the 4 inputs and 4 outputs to voltage or current and pick the range. The configuration is stored on the unit itself and survives a power cycle.
