Product Overview

The Omron NB7W-TW01B-V1 is the NB-series 7.0-inch widescreen WVGA color touch HMI with the full port set: 10/100 base-T Ethernet, USB-A host (for a USB memory stick), USB-B slave (for CX-One project upload), and TWO RS-232C serial ports (COM1 + COM2). Pick the TW01B-V1 for a 7-inch shop-floor panel where an Ethernet link to a CJ / CP1 / NJ / NX PLC is the primary connection but the operator also needs USB-stick recipe transfer, a barcode reader on COM2, and a serial-label printer on COM1. The 800 x 480 pixel TFT color screen and the white LED backlight keep the panel readable at typical shop-floor brightness, and the IP65 front seal suits washdown-tolerant panels.

USB host for recipe transfer

The USB-A host port takes a standard USB memory stick (the FZ-MEM2G / FZ-MEM8G industrial-grade sticks are the typical pick). Operators can pull a recipe from the HMI, drop it on the stick, and carry it to the next machine -- or push a new recipe from the stick without a PC at the line. The USB-B slave port on the same edge takes a standard USB cable back to the engineering PC for project upload / download via NB-Designer.

NB family and TW code splits

The TW01B-V1 is the full-feature NB7W. Pick the NB7W-TW00B instead for a stripped variant that drops the USB host (memory-stick recipe transfer unsupported). Pick the NB7W-TW11B instead for the cost-optimized Ethernet-only stripped variant. The NB5Q-TW01B-V1 is the 5.6-inch QVGA sibling with the same full port set; the NB3Q-TW01B-V1 is the 3.5-inch tighter-cutout sibling; the NB10W-TW01B is the 10.1-inch wide-format sibling. All NB-series panels run the same NB-Designer project, so a TW01B-V1 project moves to a 10.1-inch NB10W without rework -- just resize the pages.

Before ordering

Confirm the panel cutout is 192.0 x 138.0 mm with 1 to 5 mm panel thickness. Confirm the HMI cable run to the PLC is in spec for Ethernet (Cat 5e or better, 100 m max). Confirm the FZ-MEM2G / FZ-MEM8G industrial-grade USB stick is in stock for recipe transfer. Pair with the NB7W-KBA04 protective sheet for shop-floor touch life. Pick the NB5Q-TW01B-V1 for a 5.6-inch cut with the same port set; pick the NB10W-TW01B for a 10.1-inch upgrade.

Best-Fit Applications

  • 7-inch widescreen operator panel on a medium-size packaging or assembly machine where multiple trend graphs / alarm views need to fit on one screen
  • Ethernet-connected HMI for a CJ / CP1 / NJ / NX PLC main link, with USB-stick recipe transfer and a barcode reader on COM2
  • Spare / replacement panel for a legacy NS8-TV01B-V2 install where the cutout is being upgraded from 8.4-inch to 7.0-inch WVGA without re-engineering the CX-Designer / NB-Designer logic
  • Multi-station conveyor where the HMI mounts in a wider cabinet door (NB7W-TW01B-V1 fits the 192 x 138 mm cutout that is too wide for an NB5Q)
  • Pickup for an NB3Q / NB5Q retrofit where a larger screen is needed without going all the way to NB10W; same NB-Designer project moves between models without rework

Buying Checklist

  • Pick NB7W-TW01B-V1 for a 7-inch WVGA Ethernet + USB-host + USB-slave + 2 RS-232C + 128 MB NB-series touch HMI at 24 VDC.
  • Pick NB7W-TW00B instead for an Ethernet + 2 RS-232C stripped variant without the USB host (no USB-stick recipe transfer).
  • Pick NB7W-TW11B instead for the cost-optimised Ethernet-only stripped variant that drops the front LEDs, battery clock, and serial ports.
  • Pick NB5Q-TW01B-V1 instead for a 5.6-inch QVGA screen with the same full port set on a tighter cabinet door.
  • Pick NB10W-TW01B instead for a 10.1-inch WSVGA screen with the same full port set when a larger display is needed.
  • Pair with FZ-MEM2G / FZ-MEM8G industrial USB memory sticks for recipe transfer on the shop floor.

FAQ for NB7W-TW01B-V1

What is the difference between NB7W-TW01B-V1 and NB7W-TW00B?
Both are 7-inch WVGA Ethernet NB7W HMIs. The TW01B-V1 is the full-feature variant: Ethernet + USB-A host + USB-B slave + COM1 RS-232C + COM2 RS-232C. The TW00B is the stripped variant: Ethernet + USB-B slave + COM1 + COM2 -- no USB-A host, so a memory stick cannot be plugged in for recipe transfer. Pick the TW01B-V1 for a recipe-driven line. Pick the TW00B for a status / alarm panel where the USB-stick function is not needed. Both panels run the same NB-Designer project.
Does the NB7W-TW01B-V1 support Modbus-TCP or only FINS?
It supports both. The built-in Ethernet port runs FINS / UDP and FINS / TCP for native Omron communications to CJ / CP1 / NJ / NX, plus Modbus-TCP for third-party devices. COM1 and COM2 both run RS-232C for Host Link (SYSWAY), NT Link 1:N, Modbus-RTU master / slave, and serial protocol macro via NB-Designer protocol macros. The typical mid-size machine build uses Ethernet FINS to the CJ1 / NJ, COM1 to a barcode reader or Modbus-RTU device, and COM2 to a serial-label printer.
Can the NB7W-TW01B-V1 replace an older NS8 / NS10 HMI?
Yes, with caveats. The NB7W-TW01B-V1 panel cutout is 192.0 x 138.0 mm, which is between the NS8 (8.4-inch, cutout 191.2 x 141.6 mm) and NS10 (10.4-inch, 235.0 x 165.6 mm). A direct panel replacement of an NS10 with an NB7W requires reducer bezel work. Project migration from CX-Designer (NS) to NB-Designer (NB) is not automatic -- the project has to be rebuilt in NB-Designer. Pick the NA5-12W101B-V1 (Sysmac NA series) when the Sysmac Studio / NA Studio programming environment is the standard.
What does the -V1 suffix on the NB7W-TW01B-V1 mean?
The -V1 is a hardware / firmware revision marker for the NB-series. The TW01B and TW01B-V1 share the same datasheet and project compatibility -- a TW01B (non-V1) project loads on a TW01B-V1 without rework, and vice versa. The -V1 is the currently-active catalog entry. The differences are internal firmware features that do not affect the user project; for a panel builder commissioning a new line, the -V1 (or the equivalent non-V1 stock) is the right pick.
