It pairs an 800×600 SVGA TFT colour LCD with a matrix-resistive touch overlay, 60 MB of dedicated screen memory, and a built-in 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port for connection to a CJ2, NJ, or NX PLC over EtherNet/IP or FINS. Two RS-232C ports handle legacy PLC links (Host Link / NT Link to CJ1/CJ2) and barcode / recipe devices, while USB master and slave ports allow project transfer from a memory stick and direct screen editing from a laptop.
What the TS01 suffix adds over the TS00
The defining difference between NS12-TS01-V2 and NS12-TS00-V2 is Ethernet: only the TS01 (and TS01B black-bezel) variants include the 10/100 Base-TX port. The TS01 also supports the optional NS-CLK21 Controller Link Interface Unit for high-speed PLC-to-PLC messaging on a dedicated 2 Mbps Controller Link network — a feature the TS00 cannot use. If your CX-Designer project needs to download over Ethernet, push alarm e-mails to an SMTP server, or serve a web page through the built-in Web Server function, you must use a TS01 (or TS01B) unit.
Programming and runtime environment
Projects are built in CX-Designer (version 3.0 or later for V2 units), part of the CX-One suite. CX-Designer supports Smart Active Parts — pre-built objects for alarm logs, trend graphs, recipe banks, and ladder-monitor I/O display — so you can stand up an operator screen with live PLC I/O without writing any script. The Ladder Monitor function (with the optional NS-CLK21 and a compatible controller) lets maintenance staff read the controller program from the HMI without a laptop, with I/O comments extracted at build time.

This NS12 fits a 12.1-inch panel cutout (246 × 184.5 mm display area), making it a common choice for packaging lines, water-treatment skids, and central control stations where you need more screen than the 10.4-inch NS10 offers but cannot justify the 15-inch NS15 footprint. The TFT panel with LED backlight is rated 0 to +50 °C ambient, IP65 from the front once mounted with the included gasket, and UL / CSA / CE certified. Note that the entire NS series has been moved to Omron's product discontinuation list, with the NA5-12W101B-V1 (12-inch widescreen) as the recommended replacement.

What is the difference between NS12-TS01-V2 and NS12-TS00-V2?
Only the TS01 and TS01B variants include the built-in 10/100 Base-TX Ethernet port; the TS00 / TS00B have no Ethernet and connect to the PLC only by RS-232C. The TS01 also supports the optional NS-CLK21 Controller Link Interface Unit for high-speed PLC-to-PLC messaging and Ladder Monitor. If you need Ethernet, alarm e-mail, web server, or Controller Link, you must use a TS01 variant.
Can the NS12-TS01-V2 connect to an NJ or NX controller over Ethernet?
Yes — the built-in Ethernet port supports FINS / EtherNet/IP communication to NJ, NX, NX1P, and any CJ2 / CS1 with an Ethernet module. Set the PLC IP address in CX-Designer's host configuration, choose either EtherNet/IP (cyclic tag access) or FINS (message-based), and download the project.
